First project done

Well I did not first project today while the family was gone in Tucson..I started around noon and I made a Oxy welding cart from a new hand cart for 150cf oxy and 140cf acety. I had to make the base bigger so I used

1/8 diamond plate and welded it to the base and added a bed frame surrounding 3 sides to keep the tanks from sliding out.. I thought I would use the sawsall to make nice clean cuts............. NOT. One cut and I went for my new Victor firepower w/ 000 tip SWEEEET. Very little grinding to clean-up. I used the 60 grit flap disc. from HF... Faster and cleaner than a grinding wheel to me..

I won't go in total details, But I am pleased with what I did for what I had... By the time I was at the end I was having pretty good Mig welds. Now I will try to make a tote box for the extra stuff and parts. Before I knew it, it was 6:00 PM..... If I had a web page I would send a pic so you could see my first project. I better find a way to use my web site through Cox.. done for now

Thanks David I almost had to do something. The so-called cart that came with the tanks was a base from a shopping cart and 2 1/2'' solid Sq. rods and another that curved around the back of the tanks and tied together with a nylon tie down, and a T handle to pull everything around... (just like a shopping cart, It does not go were you want it to.) I torched the uprights and the curved parts rewelded them and put them on the hand cart and a lot of modifications to the cart its self to take the extra weight. At least I can load it on the truck or trailer with out any trouble with out the fear of it falling over. Next I will work on a Mig cart with tank from other ideas I saw on the web for my Miller 135. Also a sliding shelf for the top of my contractor rack for storage and shelf for my tools when I work on Motor home windshields, I get tied of bending over for my tools. ( I have a mobile W/S repair business) I will be using expanded metal and 3/4 or 1" tubing.

You have a nice ToDo list. To me, life is great when the list of projects outspans the time allotted. That way, there is always something to look forward to and think about.

What is a W/S repair business?
