Hi,
I just bought a small 90 AMP FLUX WIRE WELDER from Harbor Freight. I'll be using it to make rabbit cages out of scrap metal. And other small welding jobs. Mostly I'll be welding 1/2" wire mesh to angle iron scrap.
I'm completely new to welding My dad had a welder when I was a kid and it was the type where you put a rod in one clamp and a clamp on the project and set the amps and then you sort of touch the rod to the work. If you had your amps set too high it would just burn a hole in the work, if you had your amps set too low the rod would catch fire. I never did much of anything that didn't ruin the work with that welder.
I hope to have better luck with the modern tool I've got coming in the mail. But I'm sure you folks must know of a "complete idiot's guide to MIG welding" on the web. Can you point me to a good resource please?
