"Walk The Cup" is a TIG welding term. It means that you have a short tungsten stick-out, hold the torch at a bit of an angle, resting on the ceramic shroud ("the cup") and oscillate the torch so it sort of "walks" along the joint. Never done it, never seen it done but have seen a weld (fillet T joint in thick Al plate) which was so regular it looked like it was made with a robot.

Suggest someone more expreienced might like to help out Tom with the necessary details.

The site may have been down earlier. It was great yesterday but slow today so give it another try.
