No.
Most brasses are Copper-Zinc alloys. Zinc has a very low flash point and tends to burn out quickly leaving a reddish area where it was burned out, and a cloud a zinc oxide fumes.
You can TIG weld it using silicon bronze rod, but it is far better to silver solder it.
