I have a plan for a fish tank stand, and I thought I could do this with ease. But there is a term I am not familiar with. The plan asks for a '1/2" STOP WELD'. Now I remember that when I was learning to weld at school my teacher said that if you weld with 1" weld, and then 1/" gap, it can be stronger than a continuous weld as if the weld cracks it will not travel the full length of the seam.
Is this what they are refereing to, or am I way out?
Thanks, in advance Deb
