GWS A-10 any first hand reviews out there???

Hello All

My local hobby shop, has a few of these on the shelves and I really am interested in buying one. Does anyone out there who has purchased one or seen one fly care to comment on it. I'm really interested in its flight characteristics and of course its contruction (easy as the magazine reviews make it seem ???)!!!

Thanks for any info forthcoming!!!!

Pick up an August 2003 issue of 'Model Airplane News' on the news stands now. There's a good review in it on the GWS A-10.

Darrylbar:

I can give you a link for more A-10 reviews and general info than you can handle. Take a look at RC Groups Electric Forum. There is a search button on the opening page. Look for A-10 and you'll find more hits than a hunting dog has fleas.

It s a wealth of material on all aspects of electrics.

Glad to be able to help out.

That forum has been a real treasure trove of info for me, and has transformed my enjoyment of electrics.

the one here at our field barely flies in the stock configuration. The owner added an extra cell and got slightly better performance, but on the first flight with the extra cell one of the motors burned out..

The foam wings looked pretty flexible to me...any serious performance and I'd be worrying about them...

I've flown the GWS zero and mustang and the a10 pefornmance is not up there with those two...

definately a need for better aftermarket power plants, wing strengthening etc IMHO

The wingtips are VERY fragile. The hobbytown where I temporarily work has gotten in 8 or 9 and all but 2 had the wingtips either cracked, or completely broken off !!!

I'll give you 50% retail for all the damaged A-10 kits you have on hand, and I'll pay the shipping charges.

You'll have to talk to Horizon Hobby..... the owner sends them back for credit !

Personally, I think they are NOT properly packaged to protect the wing tips. The wing is loose in the box, and dropping the box on end is probably what is damaging the tips.
