Just got one of these. It has a 2100 Mah NiCad 7 cell 8.4v pack. Any problems running a 3300 NiMh 8.4v pack?

Ted shuffled out of his cave and grunted these great (and sometimes not so great) words of knowledge:
The 3300 pack is no problem PROVIDED it fits or you can make it fit. Remember to rebalance the plane afterwards.
Any upgrade on the motor will, in all probability, mean going to a brushless motor. Unfortunately, that will mean changing the ESC since the stock motor is a brushed motor.
What MAY be a better solution for you is to switch to a LIPO battery pack. The LIPO pack is going to be ABOUT 1/2 the weight of a nicd or nimh pack.
If you do go this route just be careful of the voltage dropping too low on the pack. I don't know if your ESC can be programmed for a different cutoff voltage. If the ESC an not be programmed for a different cutoff voltage, just check the pack voltage after each flight (keep the flights to under 12 minutes until you find out how long you can fly before the pack voltage gets too low.
I would change the ESC to a brushed lipo friendly one and run a 3s lipo pack..... The above sounds like shoving 10 lb of "you know what" in a 5lb bag.
