hot rodding: slow stick v. slo-v

regarding the previous thread about modding a slow stick, i'm wondering which one of these lends itself more to modification, and has more parts available to do that. i just cracked another fuse on the slo-v when i installed an aerobird extreme wing and hit a gust of wind on a "calm" day. gary

The "fuse" on the Slow Stick is a length of aluminum square tubing. If you mangle this there isnt going to be anything else left to worry about! I dont think you could damage it other than by stepping on it or something.

Further update: While screaming along inverted (yes, with a geared brushless and the aftermarket wing it will fly inverted and even do outside loops) it was heading towards the ground. I pulled out just a bit too late (shoulda killed the throttle first) and went in full throttle nose first. Gearbox destroyed. Tail feathers destroyed when the servo tray slid forward, ripping the control horns from the elevator and rudder. Wing snapped in half but I can probably glue that bad boy back together. Electronics incl the brushless motor are fine. Fuse is maybe slightly bent. $35 replaces the entire plane sans flight pack.

My Slo Stik w/brushless will fly inverted and do outsides no problem.....however, yaw control is very lacking when inverted. I love those $35 max repair costs......
