I have a question re prop adapters.
We're working with an E-Flite Power25 motor, we have the problem of the prop adapter barely being long enough for the propeller and backing plate of the spinner. We only get a bite on 2, maybe
3 threads with the nut.
We're looking at the following Great Planes prop adapter which is definitely long enough.
The question is, which has the greater holding power? Chuck or set screw?
As it is, with the three bladed prop being used, we already had the thing try to slip off the shaft at full power. We cranked it down really hard and we seem OK now. But as I pointed out above, the nut is only a couple-three threads on the bolt.
Could we have problems with a set screw holding on?
This system is going in an E-Flite Bonanza and I dare say we're likely to have unlimited climb performance with this motor.
Thanks for any advice.
