servos

Hello group,

I am ready to install servos in a 60 size Spitfire ( 64in wingspan). What low profile retract servo do you recommend? (I am using mechanical retracts, so a non-proportional servo is needed). How much torque do I need for the other servos? elevator servo? aileron and rudder servos?

thanks, jnk

Get a low profile unit from Tower for the retracts. Standard servos will do just fine for everything else. Standards usually are between 40 and 50 ounce inches of torque.

I'm in love with the "big bang for the buck" you get from Hitec servos. I'd use their retract servo, and 605s everywhere else.

Hello,

thanks to everyone for the help. I think I can set this plane up correctly now.

And to Alan...if you are the guy that created the Alan's Hobby and web link site, (and it apears you are) that is one of the most useful sites I've ever visited, and not just for hobby purposes. I used to use that site all the time, but my hard drive crashed a while back and I didn't have my "favorites" backed up. I couldn't remember the site name, either. (getting old, I guess). Thanks for the link to it on this post, and for creating such a great website.
