Spread Spectrum for General RC Use (DX7)

If you were sport flying, I could see moving over to spread spectrum soon. But since you are a performance oriented flyer, I don't think I would make the jump until I learned a few things. Who knows, maybe you know them already?

I'm interested in the update or polling rate of the primary control surface pulses. Much more bandwidth will be required just to maintain our current polling rate when going to spread spectrum. Which is why you'll never see SS in the 72 MHz, unless the FCC lets us hop from one channel to another, which isn't likely.

I bought one of the Spektrum SS Park Flyer radios a while back. Nice, but I'm not convinced that the throughput is as fast as current non SS rigs. I'm not sure either way, mind you, but something doesn't feel the same as it should.

I could be mistaken. Have been many times before.

I still have an 8103 that hasn't been flown much...

That would scratch one itch. My 8103 was the last with the slider trims. I have done ridiculous damage to the case, too. :o(

I only bought the 9303 because the wife wouldn't buy the new sewing machine she wanted/needed if I didn't buy something.

I may end up buying the SS rig simply to reduce the amount of walking I will have to do (frequency board). But that will be at least a little while. I wonder what the price is going to be for a system?
