Vmar Apache II HELP

Oct 02, 2009 4 Replies

I Currently have a Vmar Apache II trainer with a SC .46 glow engine. The hull and wings are getting a bit tatty and I have a bad feeling in the next few days I am going to crash lol.

I need some help. Can someone point me in right direction of were I can get new wings and a hull from. I don=92t mind if it is a different plane I want to use the same components for the Vmar

Thanks

Where are you? If you fly with me(or someone) on a buddy cord you will save your plane until you can fly solo. mk in Central Texas

How do you mean "tatty"? That adjective brings to mind the covering coming off in strips -- is that the case, or is it subject to many small breaks, or what?

Are you concerned that the thing's condition is going to cause a crash, or just that you're pushing your luck with your flying skill?

If it's structurally sound and the covering's in good shape then it may be ugly, but it should fly OK. You can fix the covering -- if you can't patch it with shipping tape you can always rip it off and redo. Ditto for structural problems, except if you're in the northern hemisphere you may want to wait until the weather rules out flying to do so, as you'll have to start by ripping off the covering.

Shoot, that the best part of an old fav beater ARF plane. I go out of my way to find the most contrasting abuse the eye colors to patch with. One of my fav planes had so many contrasting patches it looked like a Gleeman's cloak. (Let's see if any get the reference) Kit built planes, well, not so much. Those I try to repair to match.
