Check out the ATI HD 2900XT rated as "awesome" by Computer Reseller News and at least 2GB RAM. You can look at Alienware machines for other specs or anything being marketed in the Cadalyst magazine.

The link above gives minimum requirements. I want a machine that responds relatively immediately so multi-cpu, multi-core, faster dual video cards that run AC are what I am investigating.

Although I am investigating specific hardware, I am also interested in the software limitations of the program itself, like what is the maximum threads/cores/cpus, amount of ram and fastest video platform it will successfully support.
