The 2008-09 METAL Inclinations International juried exhibition, presented by the Society for Midwest Metalsmiths, will include selections of the most exemplary fine metal art created by metalsmiths, blacksmiths, silversmiths, goldsmiths and jewelers all over the world. This strictly digital show will be trend setting.

The three jurors for the Metal Inclinations exhibition are:

Michael Monroe, a well-known and highly respected figure in the crafts community, now head of the Bellevue Art Museum in Seattle, Washington, former head of the American Craft Council and former curator-in-charge of the Smithsonian Institution's Renwick Gallery in Washington D.C.

Marilyn da Silva, professor and program chair of the jewelry and metal arts department at California College of the Arts in Oakland California.

Susie Ganch, Assistant Professor and Head of the Metals Program at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia.

AWARDS: $3,500 total. $2,000 first place cash award sponsored by The Society for Midwest Metalsmiths. $1,000 second place cash award, sponsored by Hauser and Miller. $500 third place gift certificate award, by Rio Grande.

The METAL Inclinations International Exhibition Web site will include:

=95 A Gallery web page of all the accepted images with artists names, cities and countries. =95 Each artist will also receive an individual web page that showcases an enlarged version of their image/s with a description of their artwork and artist's statement. A link to the artist's web site or email address will be provided. This is an incredible way to expand your world wide presence on the web and increase traffic on your own web site. =95 Artists will receive world-wide recognition of their talents. =95 International publicity of the METAL Inclinations Exhibition and the winning works. =95 Artists will have access to a digital catalog of the exhibition. =95 The Exhibition will be displayed on the Internet for one full year. =95 No need to ship your precious metalwork or jewelry around the world to exhibit. You may sell your artwork from your link, any time during the show. If you sell your metalwork, you retain all proceeds from the sale. Images will remain online even if sold.
