Forge available for rent

The Rural Life Centre has a well equipped forge available to let to any blacksmith with either an established business looking for a new home, or a newly qualified craftsperson.

This presents a unique opportunity to become part of a working museum with a captive audience of over 11,000 visitors annually and many special events.

The museum is located in southern England, some 35 miles from London, and is set in ten acres of grounds with exhibits covering the period between about

1750 and 1960.

The rental for the premises is negotiable but the Old Kiln Museum Trust would expect the occupier to open the forge to museum visitors whenever practicable and possible. There is also the opportunity to sell products on site and through the museum's shop. The museum is open throughout the year, though limited in the winter months, but the occupier would have access to the premises at all reasonable times, not just when the museum was open.

If you are interested in this unusual opportunity, or know of anyone that might be, please contact the museum's director, Chris Shepheard, for an informal discussion in the first instance.
