Regarding the HSK system:



I see this is described having "positive taper lock". What does the "positive" bit refer to? ...And does a "negative" taper lock system exist??

The shanks on HSK tooling are designed to expand when clamped as well as being drawn up against the spindle nose hence creating a positive lock.
