This is a formal Request For Discussion { RFD } for the creation of a new moderated Usenet NewsGroup alt.hvac.pro-series.moderated. This is not a Call For Votes { CFV }, you may not vote at this time. Procedural details follow below.

Rationale: alt.hvac.pro-series.moderated
The existing alt.hvac NewsGroup as it exists, offers little or no trade based information, relevant professional trade information dissemination, useful trade based/related data resources or trade relevant exchanges. In its present form it represents little more than a personal forum for a select few to espouse off-topic viewpoints and provide a breeding ground for trolling flamers, in essence discouraging legitimate readership and participation by trade professionals. The proposed creation of the alt.hvac.pro-series.moderated NewsGroup, as the proposed name suggests, this Group would be targeted at industry professionals, the proposed moderation would eliminate off topic, inflammatory and irrelevant posting. Series was intentionally selected as a part of the Groups identification to provide for development of a future trade based Group of professionals assisting lay-persons with trade related issues and questions, the combination of these two facets often resulting in an astounding waste of bandwidth in the present alt.hvac Group.
The creation of this proposed Group is made to provide an inviting discussion forum with relevant topics and issues by participants who are true industry professionals, who respect the trade, its heritage and have the desire to promote the industry in an honorable fashion.

The alt.hvac.pro-series.moderated NewsGroup is open to discussion, information exchange and industry related topics of concern(s) and changes affecting the industry professional tradesmen.
Moderation Policies:
The purpose of the proposed moderation of the pro-series Group is not to restrict the free exchange of ideas, ideals, opinions, methods, techniques or opinions of industry tradesmen. Moderation is intended to restrict or prohibit abusive, inflammatory oposition to those principles, to restrict or eliminate self or product promotion at the expense of other subscribers, moderation is intended to restrict or eliminate cross-posting, to eliminate or restrict exchange of information, techniques or practices with individuals whose qualifications preclude them from safely and/or effectively discharging information avaulable in this Group. Flaming responses will not be tolerated, finally the proposed name of the Group itself provides indication to DIY individuals, that it has been established as an exchange for tradesmen.
The moderator(s) of this group reserve the right to filter typically recognized flamers, trolls, OT posters, sex or other product endorsements not typically associated with the trade or specifically solicited from approved subscriber posts, altered headers, flooders or simulators are also subject to filtering.
Binary posts, with the exception of digital signatures, will not be permitted.
