My wife is wanting me to install a floor plug so that she can place a floor lamp behind a sofa without having to run an extension cord across the living room.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Any recommendations?

Yeah. You are going to spend at least $85.00 on a Hubbell brass floor box and cover. Sucker!

Use only an approved floor box.

Yes, I've installed floor outlets before, why does it have to be a floor outlet ? can't you just install some wall outlets where needed ?, anyhow, the floor outlet boxes are pricey I think wiremold has one for about 55$. If it's for your cabin it should be a breeze to run wire from underneath. Roy
