I have an inverter that outputs a 0 to 20 mA signal in proportion to the speed. I need a 4 to 20 mA signal. Can the 0/20 be converted somehow? TIA

Why? The scale will be a bit off but they are anyway. 0=4 and 20=20. I would hook it up the way it is and just remember that the low end is off by a %.
Unless you run the motor at low speeds it wont make any difference. No sense making it harder than it needs to be,,, at least that is my opinion.
The signal O/P needs to be accurate as it is used as a motor speed reference in a process control loop.
How would just the low end be out ?????? would effect the whole scale, basic maths.
sQuick..
Well, all except the full speed, 20mA point. Basic, basic maths ;-)

There are lots of manufacturers that sell devices to convert anything to anything.
Try Weidmuller, Phoenix......
