ELCB and P.M.E./Solid Earth

Is it a problem to use an ELCB on a P.M.E. or solid earth earthling system (suppliers lead sheath) in a belt and braces like set-up?

Assuming you mean a Voltage Operated ELCB, then it's not really suitable. They monitor the voltage between the house earthing and a reference earth electrode. On a TN-C-S (PME) system or a TN-S system, what are the two earthing points you envisage monitoring the voltage between with the Voltage Operated ELCB?

No...I meant using a current operated earth trip but instead of using a stake use the P.M.E. or solid earth.
