Magnetic power converted to mechanical force

Jul 20, 2006 0 Replies

Is there a calculator on the web that would help a lay-man with no engineering training (i.e. me) to convert, into mechanical units such as pounds of force, the magnetic repulsion of two identical magnets for each other at specificed distances (e.g. 1mm, 2mm, 5mm, 10mm, 15mm)? The following data are available for the magnets: Gauss, coercive force and intrinsic coercive force in oersteds, density, surface area, diameter, inner diameter (if ring-shaped), thickness, and whether they are anisotropic.

Thanks in advance. Liam
