>> Will a clamp (tong) meter read AC or DC Voltage without breaking the >> insulation?
>Most clamp on meters measure amps not volts. I only know one clamp meter
>that measures voltage and its primary job is to measure current. )Amecc(
>There are two types of clamp around the conductor, one produces milliamps
>and the flexible kind produce millivolts as a means delivering the signals.
>As for you other thoughts. Opto isolation is great but your going to have to
>build the circuit yourself to my knowledge.

Have Amec a web site for details of their products? Does anyone know of a manufactured converter that would sample at 230-40 volts ac and output say 1 mill V per V?
