Old Safe with Yale Lock

I am posting the link that has the pictures I took. Hope it works out.

I took the lock apart, cleaned out almost all of it and am almost ready to assemble.

Some different things in here. At least to me. The discs/wheels were dirty with some black stuff. Brake cleaner took care of this. Getting the knob assembly and the lock box out was different. The 6 screws were simply rusted in place. I had to drill out the box screws. The screwdriver was bending. If this is an example of Mosler workmanship they have flunked. The box screws were rusted in tight. Drilled out. The screws that held the dial were tough also. All needed a wrench on the screwdriver to turn. One screw broke off and had to be drilled. I will retap and put in new screws.

The combination is set by slipping the wheels apart and setting in the new numbers. No big deal.

Big mistake in combination brand. It is apparently "Shaw-Walker" Muskegon Michigan. Google search was not good. Will try again.

Thanks to all Bob AZ

well, STORAGE plays a LOT with that factor. cant leave a high precision piece of steel out in the damp which is it, a MOSLER or not?

you needed an oil.. called KROIL.. a very good penetrating, loosen the rusted in screws stuff

IF you reassemble PROPERLY and dont get something out of place.

Shaw Walker IIRR, later made file cabinets as well.

IF when you reassemble and you turn the dial and it turns HARD anywhere in rotation, STOP.. you got problems.
