What is the KW11 blank for?

What is the KW11 blank for and does it usually have 7 pin sizes?

I normally see the KW1 for the older Kwiksets and the KW10 for the 6 pin versions, but just heard about a KW11 with 7 depths whereas the others use

  1. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what is different about it and which locks it is needed for.

Thanks!

The KW11 is used for warehouse locks. Only the warehouse locks should use the #7 depth. At least-that was what I was told,so not etched in stone.

Hmm. Still not clear to me.

I was just told the KW11 is a KW10 (6 pin) blade with a KW1 bow. Can anyone verify this or explain more? Why make a KW11 when the KW10 exists?

Kwikset came out with there super dooper line which is sold at the big box stores. Kinda like the Titan but not as good. On these they used the Titan keying arrangement with the staggered shoulders to be compatible with the Kwikset 5 pin, but kept the Kwikset Kbow key.

Functionally these are the same as the Titan.
