Looking for mechanical knowledge for puzzling torque question.

Can anyone comment regarding this situation? I have a wrench that pivots at the base, in other words the handles goes from the normal flat (typical common wrench) up to 90 degrees such that it operates in the manner of a screw driver. My question is if I were to make this into a torque wrench would the torque settings and measurements change as the handles goes from the straight position up to the 90 degree position?

As long as the "clicker" or indicator of torque is entirely in the part that does not pivot, no problem.

For most torque wrench designs, the answer is yes
