You want to try driving a VW Bug, shortened 14 inches or so (rear fender right up to the back of the door) with the roof cut off on roads with a light dusting of sand on them (This was Livingstone Zambia in the early seventies) The back bumper would pass the front one so quick your head would literally spin!!!

I pray to differ - if the focus muscles still work, it could have arbitrary depth of field (like a regular eye) - but the depth _perception_ would be zilch. ;-)

Aughra had one in "The Dark Crystal", but she never threw it; just plucked it out and put it in the appropriate viewing spot. ;-)
