Sometimes efficiency bites ya on the ass . But in the long run , it's worth it . Can those blanks be repurposed for a smaller mold ?

Maybe, but I'd have to spend some time resizing them for other applications. I put the fixture plate in the vises wrong, and they came out with a wicked slant across the parting line surface. I'll probably use them for prototyping stuff, but not for anything I sell.

You quickly found and corrected the problem. Major projects like car and aircraft engines have been produced for years before someone did that. I identified issues on an a GM engine module, my '78 Honda, an Intel IC, a TI computer and an Air Force radio. Both neighbors' Chevy trucks had major engine defects, one dropped a valve that ruined a cylinder. My '78 Honda had a soft camshaft lobe that I found in time and valve clearance is on the watch list for my present one. My Ranger's U joints were lubed for life, their life, which was a thousand miles beyond the warranty.

There is a list of customer service items on my truck, and one recall for the camera, none of which I have had any issues with, but the known defective air conditioners that explode internally that plagued 2024 trucks that came out of Fords Kentucky plant isn't even on the list. I was told there was a recall by the dealer and it was replaced (not just the compressor) by the dealer with no issue or complaint.
