Fascinating! A metalworking version of the Farmer's lung (and others).
Interesting, and possibly applicable to any activity where you turn stuff into a mist or a dust. Judging from the illustration, the publishers don't know the difference between welding and machining.
Especially if "stuff" is rotten and contaminated by obnoxious bacteria.
