Thanks for all the replies!
I made an offer and we ended up settling on 8.5K. I think its a pretty good deal if the equipment is in fairly good shape. I am going to try and tighten the gibs and some other things to check for wear. I'm also going to get him to turn down a piece of round stock and mill down a rectangular piece and put some calipers on them and see how it does.
I already have a pretty complete welding shop and I'm in the process of building a new 30x50 so I should be able to do a lot soon.
Is there much reason to have two mills? I can see if you are doing something on one it would be nice to have another but is there a good reason to keep both other than this? I'm thinking I might get rid of the turnpro and just keep the alliant and recoup some money as well as some shop space.
Also, anyone have any other tips to check for wear?
Again, thank you for all the replies, it definitely makes me feel better!
