Aiborne Express sucks

I purchased a Millermatic 175 mig welder online and they shipped it out a week ago. I haven't seen it, Airborne has no idea where it is or when i will receive it and the rep hung up on me when i pointed out that if they dont know where it is located and have know way of finding out, that they lost it. (Math Quiz: Ohio to Buffalo is an 8 hour drive, how f#cking slow do you have to drive to make it in over 6 days?) Before anyone hops on my ass for not buying locally dont bother, I'm not spending $160. more and still waiting for them to get one in stock. (i called my local Miller supplier and they can bite me, they were rude and they didn't have any of them there) My supplier for consumables carries Lincoln and I wanted the Miller so I couldn't go to them. My sole purpose for this email is to let everyone know how shitty Airborne (especially the reps, I'm picturing some big fat bitch with he eyes rolling back in her ugly head because i had the balls to ask her to look into a delivery!) is and that if you need something shipped, you're better off using ANYBODY but them duche bags! (I'd sooner pay a convict in a stolen van to go get it) Alright, go ahead and blast me with how I'm an asshole somehow for this. thanks in advance! walt

Ahhhh we don't have to do that now do we Walt.

You already know that everytime you look at yourself in a mirror.

No, I don't think you are an asshole - merely someone who wants the goods he paid for. Call them again and ask if anyone in the office can spell "lawsuit". That the machine was needed for a critical project and about 3 million dollars are going to be lost if you don't get it. May shake them loose.

It works pretty good, although I wish you'd ordered the 251 with the meters. Don't forget that you need some extra spools of wire.

I *JUST* lost three days on a project waiting for parts the customer had shipped via Airborne. This stuff was coming from 45 miles away.

My all time favorite Airborne story - which is absolutely true - it happened to me:

Material need for job was supposed to arrive the day before we were going to install it.

Called Airborne at 11:00 AM to find out why it was late - they had no idea.

Called back once an hour after that, and they still had no idea - all the tracking information showed was that it was on a van for delivery.

By 6:00 PM, I was really pissed. They told me (are you sitting down?) "the driver went home sick, and took the van with him. We won't be able to deliver for a couple of days."

I told them that if I didn't have the material by 8:00 AM the following morning, I was going to lose a major customer, and I would be glad to sue them.

At 3:00 AM, my door bell rang. The station manager had taken a taxi to the driver's house and picked up the package and delivered it to me.

This stuff would be (almost) believable if I was way out in the boondocks. I'm not. I'm 12 miles from the Empire State Building.

So, I agree. I'd sooner hire an escaped convict with a stole truck than use Airborne.

I have never had anything but excellent service from Airborne (now DHL). Prehaps it helps that my favorite daughter is a supervisor at the local hub.

Anyway, I just talked to her and she suggests calling Mike Greco

716 685 0868 the Buffalo area supervisor.

Alternately if you email her the details ( snipped-for-privacy@dhl.com) she will try to check into the situation from here.

Hope this helps.

Errol, that was extremely nice of you to do this for me! Thank You! I will call Mr. Greco now and try to resolve the matter. Please express my gratitude to your daughter as well. I posted this out of pure desperation (and frustration), they told me they had no way of calling my local hub. Thanks again, walt

actually it's almost 5pm here (western ny) I dont know why it says that time? I phoned Mr. Greco and explained my problem, I told him who I was and the company I run and he was very cordial, he's going to phone me back with what he can do to expedite this situation. Thanks again, things go way smoother when someone lives in your town. Walt

Actually, if it's flies you're after, Bullsh&t works better than either honey or vinegar.

Walt:

I was refering to your post about making another welding cart from befgrame material. I didn't make that clear.

I am very pleased that you seem to be making progress on your situation.

I will pass on your thanks to Sue when i talk to her next.

oh yeah, that was late! (or early?) once I start a project, I cant stop until i'm finished. That's a good and bad thing, i find myself awake some nights thinking about how i would love to finish something without waking up the entire family with machines rumbling. thanks again, I'll keep you posted regarding Airborne. walt

Hmmm?? My neighbor is a driver for Airborne, needless to say I've sent alot of stuff via them, all over the country, has always arrived on time and undamaged. Maybe if you actually PAY for the service it's worse??
