This thread has reinforced a view I've held for a while now - that a lot of folks spend way too much time worrying about implausible scenarios. It's little wonder that there are so few hoists in home shops, or hardly anyone even working on their own vehicles anymore. After all, you could change your own oil, sell the car, the drain plug could fall out, and the new owner could sue you for your first born...
