Got this request a few moments ago
"I found your name and email on a CNC forum about repairing Monarch
Headstock Spindle Speed Change Lever. Would you have one of these or know where I could find one?"
Any ideas of where to find one for the gentleman?

As most of these lathes, still found, are good for scrap only, I would keep watching ebay. I scrapped a lathe like that once and sold a lot of parts that typically break when these lathes are mishandled.

Might have to turn it into a "Multi Discipline Project" - design a mold, cast it, machine to fit.
As for the 1944 vintage machines being good for scrap only - arrgh. Maybe in a production shop, but elsewhere? Ja shur, getting parts can be a brass plated bitch, but ... it is the challenge. "We're metal workers!"

Hmmm... I was just thinking before I read your reply, that making a new handle might be a good class/shop project.
