looking for Myford ML 7 tailstock

A lot of them turn up on ebay but they all seem to be from seller "lathe-parts" in England.

Depending on condition, they cost $150 to $200 but the shipping more than doubles that.

Does anyone know of something here in North America where the shipping would be a little more reasonable?

Thanks for any pointers.

Myford's are about as common as hen's teeth on this side of the pond. If you own a mill, I'd start shopping for *any* brand tail stock that is about the right size and modify it. Wouldn't be a real small project but no reason it wouldn't work well.

I've done that with tailstocks and bed turrets etc several times in the past--easiest way is to start out with one that's from a slightly smaller lathe and build an adapter/ riser rather than to take a bigger one and try to hack it down.
