Looking for ready made small spindle assembly

Some while ago (on this group I think) there was mention of precision spindles that could be used as the basis of toolpost grinders, or for light milling.

ISTR that they were of USA manufacture but thats about as much as I know so have no idea whether they accept collets, chucks or whatever.

Grateful for any leads.

spindles seem to be used on a lot of the lighter duty routers. Porter-Cable makes a router that is meant to be attached to a machine such as a router.
