Indeed. Though a bit slower than a die head due to the generally slower rpm of the pipe threader. I was given a dead Oster, with two drawers full of dies. All the pipe sizes to 1.5 and bolts to 1 1/8.
Oh..and the chuck was badly worn..but I built up the jaw slots with tig, remilled em and its been working just dandy ever since.
