What would the group opinion be for using 4140 alloy round to manufacture a replacement front cross-bar for an early 1010c. This part is aprox 52" wide, supports the engine mount and transfers the load to the track frames. Asides for shock load i would suspect the weight supported would be aprox. 600-700 lbs, but feel its main function is to keep the track frames spread.The original cross-bar seems to be annealed and not hardened. I would use the 4140 in its annealed state also. Thanks for the opinions
