Does anybody have any idea what this chuck might be intended for? I can't provide a picture, but here's a description.:
its a two jaw chuck mounted on a MT stub. The body is a cylinder 1 7/8" in diameter and about 2 1/2" long. The jaws slide in a rectangular slot on the face and are moved by an acme screw engaging both jaws. The hole at capacity (1/2") is an octagon and becomes a diamond as the jaws are closed. The body is marked "HM" in a diamond and "Made in Germany" and "0-13mm" and "1/2". The key is a 1/4" square key like a little lathe chuck key.
I assume it is intended for stationary use as in a tailstock as the jaw screw would cause it to be out of balance, but what has octagon or diamond shanks to fit? Ideas anyone?
