nano size laser spot welding for stainless steel

Feb 01, 2005 3 Replies

does anyone know of any technology to weld extremely thin stainless steel sheets using laser and get nano sized spot size?

If you can define "extremely thin" and "nano sized" that may help?

Nano in electrically engineering terms is defined as 10EE-9

0.000000001 (thats 1 billionth) which is pretty small.

I think he is in the wrong newsgroup....

Not True! I'm so good I can hold "nanos" all day! Used to be "tenths". But with all these now fangled digital tools I'm much better! ERS
