OT-Feelings

While interviewing an anonymous Marine scout sniper on his sniper skills, a Reuters News agent asked him what he felt when shooting members of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

The Marine shrugged and replied, "Recoil."

The aim of untold millions is to be free to do exactly as they choose and for someone else to pay when things go wrong.

In the past few decades, a peculiar and distinctive psychology has emerged in England. Gone are the civility, sturdy independence, and admirable stoicism that carried the English through the war years . It has been replaced by a constant whine of excuses, complaints, and special pleading. The collapse of the British character has been as swift and complete as the collapse of British power.

Ha ha ha ha!

Even for a semi-liberal, Bush-hater like myself -- that there's funny. When asked about Gunner's post, I replied, "I got a kick out of that one."

Ouch. You will be punished for that one in the afterlife, xray.

Refreshing to see that not everyone in the US military supports the butchery in Iraq!

Not only was the Marine unaware of the dual meaning of his reply it's looking like the whole thing was fabricated. This was already discussed on rec.guns and the consensus was that there was no confirmation of the report that could be found anywhere. So, instead of being a clever quip by a sniper it was something somebody made up and pretended it came from one. Hey, maybe it was one of those stories like the ones in Iraq where American soldiers wrote stories praising ourselves and then passing them off to Iraqi newspapers where they were published under Arab names. Sounds like something military psyops would do. But it just goes to show you that you can't believe anything on the internet until it's verified by several sources. Sorry to burst the war lover's bubbles.
