OT- Thinking of moving to LasVegas area---info?

I'm thinking of making a move to the Vegas area, probably in theHenderson/Boulder area. I know nothing about these areas so anyonewith some input would be appreciated.May not do it but it could happenJohnFSan Diego

I've managed to meet people(And make a few friends) at the Gun Club, but anywhere else (Including work) is very hard. Sunworshipper and I didn't meet in Las Vegas, we met on the Internet and both happen to live here. Still, if you are the independent type, there are things here to like. Not advertised, but there are high-quality museums (I ain't talking about Elvis-O-Rama), musical concerts, art exibitions and the like. It is a college town after all.

Interesting. I visit Henderson/Vegas several times a year, making the rounds of Home Depot, Costco, Petsmart, Office Max, Harbor Freight, etc. Other than the stop and go traffic typical of any big city, I don't know what the hell you guys are talking about. People swerving to cop your door opening right-of-way? Geez.

When it's too hot for my wife to wait in the car while I'm at HD or HF, she'll have the dogs on leashes near the store door. Never fails to cause a steady stream of people to stop and chat. Maybe you guys need doggies. :-)

To the OP, in case you think I'm a Pollyanna, here's something negative about Vegas - there's only one tree in the whole city, and every time I think I'm going to get some benefit from it, there's always an old coot in a minivan stealing my shade.

I just made that up to be cynical , lol. Really they are the most courteous and apathetic people that I've seen across the country.

Probably cause just about everybody has a dog , can you guess why? Next time your in Vegas attracting these nice people , find 5 locals and ask them if I'm full of s*it. I figure your lucky or just blind.

They use to have a cool park right next to Cashman Field with huge trees and grass. All they had to do was run off the bums , but instead they bull dosed the whole lot and put up a gov't building. I don't know about other towns , but I would figure there would be hell to pay for the city to take over a public park and put the SEC and other crap there with twigs to shade their cars. Your right shade is a premium here , I know everybody loves to block me in while parking under my tree. Maybe they are just the ones that don't own dogs. But , then again you say it's your shade.

Doesn't matter to me , the guy wanted to know and that is my opinion. If he was turned off by what he saw then he deserves to hear the truth before moving here. I'm sure the complete ass holes think this is heaven on earth.
