I seem to have to clean the threads on my 4-jaw a lot. Chips stick to them. Could I use them dry and would that lessen the chip problem?

I guess that I should have said that I meant the jaw threads, not the spindle threads.
Thanks for all the advice. I solvent cleaned them to get all the grease off and very lightly oiled them. The grease was the original shipping grease that I hadn't removed. I guess I thought that it was supposed to stay. Thanks again, Bob
