Or the old aircraft way. Cross-drill as in the roller coaster tracks, and pour in linseed oil, then cap. As the linseed oil "dries" (oxidizes)it uses up all the oxygen inside the frame, so rusting is effectively halted. The linseed oil also coats the interior of the tubes, and seals any minute pinholes that would otherwize let oxygen (and moisture) in.
