URGENT: Pressure against time graph for the explosive combustion of TNT or Nitroglycerine

Apr 17, 2005 2 Replies

Dear all

I (Ian's son) am in need of a graph illustrating the above conditions. A link to a site on the net is unfortunately the only thing that will do, as i need to include this graph in a chemistry report. (All sources must be quotable etc.)

Thanks in advance

Alasdair Weeks

Let Y be in psi, X in microseconds. Jes draw a horizontal line at 14.7 psi, a big-assed long vertical line at ignition time, oh, mebbe 2-30 feet high, then another horizontal line at

14.7 psi, anywhere in the first quadrant. You can quote me, link to this thread. There's proly an American Society for Explosive Engineers/Demolition or sumpn, should you need more details, or if you don't feel like drawin yer own graph....

There is plenty of published literature to be found in a good technical or engineering library. I hope bibliography is still acceptable as a substitute for URL's for references and footnotes.
