Nope. Properly speaking, "science" is a system of truth and reality testing. The only "belief" in science is that statements should be tested, and accepted only if replicable, with further details waiting discovery.
Belief systems, including religion, demand acceptance of something as the true word, without reality testing. Imagine the problems if someone claimed Creation actually took 8 days. How about if someone showed that Cain did not actually kill Abel, just tried to take advantage of the situation? You know the early books did not claim Mary was a virgin until about 1300 or so?
No cross checking, no reality testing. Just sophistry and brute force.
Yes, the "liberals" are trying to remove all self sufficiency courses. (How they intend to pay for anything once the economy crashes beats the hell out of me.)
Worse than the shops being closed, they shut down "Home Economics", at least the type that should be taught. Budgeting, book keeping, meal planning, food storage, etc. The result is people not being able to feed themselves on incomes that should provide them all they need, and have enough extra to stick in the bank. Wastrels are loyal followers, they are in constant need of the next handout.
Shops being closed only effect a few, home ec shutting down effects an entire generation.
Not even that useful a job.
