2251) This looks like a bolt from some kind of firearm.

Center fire cartridge.

Ejection looks to be vertical.

Magazine fed.

Perhaps as large as 30-06, or perhaps the .223 used in the M-16/AR-15.

It does not appear to have the locking lugs which I would expect, so the 30-06 is probably not the caliber.

Rather heavy for the caliber -- perhaps inertial mass for a blowback system.

2252) Perhaps a welding or carbon-rod gouging gun?

Not sure where the cables would attach, however.

2253) Hmm ... sort of looks like a hull model for some kind of boat -- but made of bronze, and with a strange mounting socket, so it is perhaps used for measuring forces from water flow, or perhaps from high speed air flow.

2254) Perhaps some kind of fuel torch (with flammable gasses or liquids coming out the screw capped nozzle on the metal cap. Fuel picked up by the *very* small tube which comes down into the glass part. (Hmm ... perhaps it holds some carbide, to generate acetylene?)

2255) Old wagon wheel designed to handle really heavy loads. Old enough to not have a continuous steel band shrunk onto the wood. Lots of reenforcement studs. Lots of spokes. Really heavy hub. It all speaks of handling a really heavy load.

2256) From the angle, it looks like a fixture for sharpening drill bits, but it seems to be made to hold only a single diameter of shank, unless there are collets of some form to adapt to different diameters.

I guess that it *could* be for holding the shafts of arrows, allowing a constant cone to be ground on the point.

Now to send this off, and then see what others have suggested.

Thanks for the comments, as long as I keep finding interesting stuff, I'll keep on posting it. A couple years ago I had a dry spell for a few months of not finding anything and started to wonder if there was much more out there worth posting, I'm happy to say that trend was reversed and I now have hundreds of items waiting to be posted. Although it is getting harder and harder to find the really intriguing items, I'm sure I'll find enough to keep the site going for quite a while yet.
