If they didn't have one in stock. For some reason, just installing a hook and eye - or duck tape - just doesn't pass the FAA.

The avionics I built had to withstand IIRC 30 g's in a belly landing without breaking loose to slam into the cockpit. Their seats isolated the aircrew from much of that shock.
Take off the door and tell everyone it's out of order. If they need to gp bad enough, they will find a way.
I'd like to know what the original Soilax was, BEFORE its phosphate formula. Ostensibly it was soapless, sudsless, & non-alkaline, and it later switched to a phosphate formula, so I'd like to now what it was in the 1930s.
