Arbor probs

Jul 01, 2006 5 Replies

Ok chaps, help me out here. I have a 13mm chuck, on which it says JT6

- I also have an arbor, which is labelled MT2 - JT6

Am I right in saying that one should fit within the other - or am I being silly ?

Its holding me up from drilling one particular hole, and I cant remove the piece from the lathe till I have drilled it !

As long as you don't put the MT2 end in it will

Peter

Hmmmm, it must have been mislabelled or summink :( Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Now I cant do anuth>>

JT 6 (Jacob's taper) is the taper within the body of the chuck, MT

2, (Morse taper) is the external stub of taper to fit your machine, lathe, mill etc. --

Where abouts are you Ed? I have a 1/2 keyless chuck on an MT 2 arbor you could borrow. I'm near Southampton- west side.
