I have got a Bridgeport milling machine which is fitted with a Bridgeport variable powerfeed which does not work and has parts missing. I am hoping to fit a Chinese powerfeed such as an Asong or Align brand as a cheaper and easier fix. Has anyone done this conversion and know if a new shaft that couples to the end of the leadscrew and takes the handwheel and index needs to be made or if the shaft out of the existing powerfeed can be used?
