Gauge blocks -- FCL

I have a set of steel gauge blocks and each block is either hand engraved or etched with the letter FCL.

Do these letters signify anything, or is it just a way of identifying the blocks as part of the same set?

I've got blocks here with the original owners name on. Maybe something similar with yours?
