As some of you will remember my workshop was broken into a while ago and several items were stolen. Not surprisingly the police have not recovered anything, but the insurance company have come up trumps and replaced everything. They have companies that buy the goods for them, and I am just waiting for all the replacements to be available and they will send them on to me. I haven't even had to go out and buy anything -excelent service (I'm insured with Zurich, by the way). They have replaced everything with like for like, same brands, etc. I think that I may have been lucky in that the items taken were fairly ordinary DIY items, and it may have been more difficult to get replacements for specialised engineering equipment.
As they say, every cloud has a silver lining. I've disconnected the outside handle from the front door they broke in through and fitted an alarm, so hopefully I'll be able to hang on to the replacements!
